Developed under the auspices of the University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Public and International Affairs, CONNECT was established to coordinate a closer working relationship between the City of Pittsburgh and thirty-five contiguous communities that surround it. CONNECT has been extremely helpful in coordinating regional activities around issues such as emergency medical services, water and sewer infrastructure, transportation policy, blighted and abandoned property, and energy efficiency, CONNECT is a highly regarded effort that is making progress in addressing the lack of collaboration in Allegheny County and Buhl funding furthers CONNECT’s reach.
