Friends of the Riverfront (FOR) is reponsible for development, expansion, promotion and stewardship of the 24 mile Three Rivers Heritage Trail, a dedicated biking, hiking and walking riverfront trail extending along both sides of the Allegheny, Monongahela and Ohio Rivers.
With assistance from the Buhl Foundation, FOR is working with a wide list of stakeholders and partners to help environmentally restore a segment of the Three Rivers Heritage Trail along the Chateau section on the Northside of Pittsburgh. The Three Rivers Heritage Trail Chateau section will benefit trail users and residents in the Chateau, Manchester, Woods Run and Central Northside neighborhoods.
