University of Pittsburgh, Office of Child Development, Ready Freddy Program

The University of Pittsburgh, Office of Child Development, launched the Ready Freddy program in 2008 at one school and the program is  now at 14 Pittsburgh Public Schools.  The Ready Freddy program enhances quality kindergarten transition, fosters early positive relationships between families and schools, promotes parent and community involvement in the schools, builds schools’ capacity to engage families and support on-time and regular attendance throughout kindergarten.  Buhl’s most recent grant support work in two schools on Pittsburgh’s Northside – King and Spring Hill.
